you know that I appreciate many styles
both new and old.
Originally from Massachusetts,
(spent over half my life there),
I appreciate a little wear - a patina if you will.
That said, I embrace forward thinking.
That can include some old, but progressive design.
(think mid-century, bauhaus, deco, arts & crafts).
Forward thinking is out of the box
and interpreting the familiar in a new way.
This latest set converts some of the items I missed
from my S3 catalogue and updates/translates them for S4.
I try to improve upon when it makes sense.
Mostly less polys - sometimes more - but hopefully better.
I've also created something new
and I'm re-releasing some items
to address tiny issues, and hopefully
to a broader audience who appreciates these updated textures.
This set actually started as a request
one I had not been able to find time for.
I guess it just took everything in the world breaking
to find inspiration.
unModern is comprised of vintage surfaces +
The Flour and Jelly cabinets are resized and have had some polys cut.
The industrial coffee tables have been finessed as well.
You might remember the pie tin clock. It has also lost some weight,
but the biggest blow is that S4 doesn't have a working clock.
(fuckers)
Not so new: ReStrikes
The door dining table, vintage chair, and tripod work lamps.
Each had something wonky - whether it was a texture (or missing texture)
Or the lights that didn't exactly work as intended.
The chair had some plumpers injected,
the lamps were scaled a little too.
Modern has a couple of old favorites
as well as a new set of end tables and a coffee table.
Also some new - inspired - art.
Color motivates me and modern historically embraced color.
Builder beige be gone already.
That's it.
Enjoy a couple of screen shots.

Notes on set - RESTRIKE items - you don't have to toss the old vintage
chair, but:
lamps lit poorly and are awkwardly thin - please consider deleting old
versions
(files from 2016: baufive_S4_lighting_tripod_floor_short_2016.package
& baufive_S4_lighting_tripod_floor_tall_2016.package)
table has been improved and 'dirty' texture replaced - please delete old
file
(file from 2016 baufive_s4_door_table_V2.package)
chair from 2016 I still like and will use myself. It is a little harder
looking and textures are rough for a 'before' look or mix and match.
Improvements are visual only.
